Creating ALT text for graphics in HTML files

Version: 5.x - Scientific WorkPlace, Scientific Word, & Scientific Notebook

When you export an HTML file, the program automatically creates ALT text for each graphic in your document. By default, the ALT text is the full path for the graphic. If you want more descriptive ALT text, you can change it like this:

  1. In your document, select the graphics frame.

  2. Choose Properties.

  3. Choose the Labeling tab.

  4. In the Name box, enter the name you want to use for ALT text.

Note The program also uses the name to identify the graphic when you iconify the graphics frame.

  5. Choose OK.
