Message: Error parsing TeX expression

Version: 3.5x, 4.x, 5.x - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

Problem

When you attempt to open a file, you receive this message:

Error parsing TeX expression.

Explanation

The program has failed to interpret a TeX expression. If you choose OK to continue, the program opens the document, but it may place the segment containing the problem expression in a TeX field. You may see TeX fields in place of entire paragraphs.

Solution

Try to isolate and correct the error.
