How to substitute a different bitmap image file for SWP-SEE.DLL

Version: 2.01 - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

Some users report they get a message about something called swp-see.dll when SW loads. This means that for some reason, SW can't locate the file, which contains bitmap images for EGA monitors. Since the SW images for vga monitors are very similar, you can solve the problem easily by copying the vga file into the ega file. Here's how:

  1. Open the Windows File Manager.

  2. In the main SW directory, find the file called swp-sev.dll.

  3. Copy it to swp-see.dll.
