Abbreviated title

Version: 2.0 - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

Q. My document, which was originally created in LaTeX using the amsart style, uses abbreviated author and title fields to control the headers. When I process the document in SW version 2.0, SW deletes the fields. How can I make them permanent?

A. We suggest you create a new document with the AMS Article style and import into it the contents of the front matter and the body of your file. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the file containing the abbreviated author and title fields.

  2. From the File menu, choose Front Matter.

  3. Select all the Front Matter box and copy it to the clipboard.

  4. Create a new document:

    1. From the File menu, choose New.

    2. Choose the AMS Article Style.

    3. Choose OK.

  5. From the File menu, choose Front Matter.

  6. Select all the Front Matter and paste the contents on the clipboard over it.

  7. From the Tag popup list, add the abbreviated title and abbreviated author fields.

  8. Choose OK.

  9. From the File menu, choose Import Contents to import the body of your original file.
