How to include a Babel package

Version: 2.5 - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

Babel packages contain TeX commands that support standard LaTeX documents written in languages other than English. The commands ensure that standard document elements appear correctly. For example, in many standard LaTeX styles, the word chapter appears automatically in chapter headings. To ensure that the word appears in the language you want to use for the document, you must include the appropriate Babel package. Here's how to do it.

  1. From the File menu, choose Style.

  2. In the LaTeX Style for Print and Preview window, choose Go Native..

  3. When the Native LaTeX Style window opens, make sure the LaTeX2e button is checked..

  4. In the Packages input box, type [lang_name]{babel}where lang_nameis one of the following:

    american

    austrian

    brazil

    catalan

    croatian

    czech

    danish

    dutch

    english

    esperanto

    finnish

    french

    galician

    german

    italian

    magyar

    norsk

    nynorsk

    polish

    portuges

    romanian

    russian

    slovak

    slovene

    spanish

    swedish

    turkish

  5. Choose OK to close the Native LaTeX Style window.

  6. Choose OKto close the LaTeX Style for Print and Preview window.
