How to change the typesetting style of a document
Version: 2.5 - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word
You can change the printed appearance of your document by changing its
typesetting style. Changing to a different style is most successful when both
the old and the new style produce the same type of document, such as a book or
report. This is because the structural elements (such as a bibliography, a
preface, or an inside address) that are inherent in one type of document may
not transfer smoothly to another type of document.
The best way to change the typesetting style of a document is to create a new
document in the style you want and then import the contents of the original
document into the new document, like this:
-
Create a new document:
-
Save a copy of your document.
-
From the File menu, choose
New or click the New button on the Standard
toolbar.
-
From the Predefined Styles dialog box, choose
the document type you want, then choose the style.
-
If you're having trouble making a choice, choose
Preview Sample to see an example of a document
typeset in the currently selected style.
-
When you're through perusing the sample document, choose
Exit to leave the previewer.
-
Choose OK to accept the selected style.
-
Import the original document into the new document:
-
From the File menu, choose
Import Contents.
-
In the Import Contents dialog box, enter the
name and directory of the copy of your document.
-
Choose Open to import the body of your document
into the new document file.
-
The system asks if you want to import the front matter of the original
document. Choose Yes to import the front matter
and add it to any front matter already existing in the active document or
No to leave the front matter of the active
document unchanged.
