How to solve an installation problem with the truetex.ini file

Version: 2.5 - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

Several customers have reported that after installing Version 2.5, they get this message: CANNOT OPEN FILE x:\swp25\tex\winsub.ini. This indicates that the installation program was unable to change the reference to the drive on which you installed the program. You can make this change quickly. Here's what to do:

1. Use an ASCII editor to open the file called truetex.ini, which is located in the swp25\tex directory.

2. The eighth line of the file should read something like this: FONTSUB=X:\SWP25\tex\winsubs.ini;C:\SWP25\tex\cmsubs.ini;C:\SWP25\tex\amssubs.ini;C:\SWP25\tex\dcsubs.ini;

3. Change the X to a C, so that all the references are to the drive on which you installed the program.

4. Save the file.
