How to modify the .ini file in the sw20 directory
Version: 2.01 - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word
If you install software applications that use versions of Win32s that are
incompatible with the Professional Edition of SW, you may be unable to print
documents that used to print successfully. You can modify the .ini file in
your sw20 directory so that SW will use a different LaTeX compiler, one that
doesn't require Win32s. Then, you'll be able to print again.
-
Using an ASCII editor, open the .ini file in your sw20 directory.
For Scientific Word, the file is sciword.ini.
For Scientific WorkPlace, the file is swp-pro.ini.
-
Scroll through the file until you find the group entitled
[TeX].
-
At the end of the group, find the two lines that read:
LaTeX=1,C:\SW20\tex\initex32,&latex
alternateLaTeX=1,C:\SW20\tex\initex3x.pif,&latex,,1
-
Place a semicolon in front of the first line.
-
Delete the word alternate from the second line.
The two lines now read
; LaTeX=1,C:\SW20\tex\initex32,&latex
LaTeX=1,C:\SW20\tex\initex3x.pif,&latex,,1
-
Save the file.
