How to enter a caption for a table

Version: 2.x, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

Floating tables can carry captions and numbers. If you add a caption to a table, the program automatically creates the table number unless you suppress it. Here's how to insert and label a floating table:

  1. Insert the table:

    1. Place the insertion point where you want to enter the table.

    2. Import the fragment table - (4x3, floating) or, in earlier versions, table4_3.

The program inserts a fragment containing a table with four rows and three columns.

    3. Edit the dimensions of the table so that it has the number of rows and columns you want.

    4. Create the contents of the table cells.

  2. Create the caption:

    1. Select the box marked caption.

The program opens the TeX Field dialog box, which shows this entry: \caption{Table Caption}.

    2. Select the words Table Caption and then type the caption you want for the table.

    3. Choose OK.
