The Angstrom character does not preview or print if you create it in Math mode, where it appears in italics. We suggest that you create the Angstrom letter in Text and then apply the italics tag to the letter. Unlike the rest of your mathematics, the letter won't appear in red on your screen, but it will produce the preview and print image you want. The Angstrom character does not preview or print in Text mode if you are using a LaTeX 2.09 typesetting style. This is an issue involving the compatibility mode of LaTeX when using LaTeX 2.09 typesetting styles. The solution is to change to use a LaTeX2e typesetting style.
