Differences in differentiation in Versions 3.0 and 2.5

Version: 2.5 & 3.0 - Scientific WorkPlace

Version 3.0 and Version 2.5 of Scientific WorkPlace appear to give different results when you evaluate expressions such as MatH: sample expression.

In Version 3.0, the result is Math: sample result in V3.0

In Version 2.5, the result is Math: sample result in V2.5

Although the Version 3.0 result appears to be incorrect, it is actually equivalent to the Version 2.5 result, and both answers are correct. The difference is that Version 3.0 of SWP adds a simplification step at the end of the differentiation process. You can check this in Version 2.5. Select the expression and then from the Maple menu, choose Simplify. The answer will be the same as the answer you get in Version 3.0: Math: sample result in V3.0
