Popup notes

Version: 3.x, 4.x, 5.x - Scientific WorkPlace, Scientific Word, & Scientific Notebook

You can enter popup notes in your documents to provide supplementary material such as additional explanations, solutions to quiz questions and problems, or hints for students. A popup note can contain text, graphics, and mathematics. The availability of popup notes depends on the shell used to create the document.

Popup notes are not the same as footnotes and margin notes, which are designed for typeset documents only. Popup notes are intended for use in read-only documents. They appear on screen as text or as a predefined icon, according to your specifications. The information in popup notes appears on screen only when the note is activated.

If you typeset your document, the information in popup notes appears as a margin note, according to the typesetting specifications for your document. No reference to the notes appears in the text. If you produce your document without typesetting it, popup notes appear in the text as they do in the document window.
